Department for Informatics Didactics

IID Group

With informatics becoming an ever more relevant topic for educators, be it at schools or at Universities, the research group on informatics didactics, (former KID – “Klagenfurter Informatikdidaktik”) focuses on didactical issues for educators at Universities as well as primary and secondary schools, both in general academic gymnasia and in vocational schools.

Our mission is to research and teach theories, methods, processes, and techniques for identifying those topics that are fundamental for the education of young citizens in an information society, and to determine how these topics are to be presented so that the necessary concepts can be easily grasped by people of all ages.

IID is led by Andreas Bollin and part of the Faculty of Technical Sciences at the University of Klagenfurt.

We are also proud that our Department is a Regional Educational Competence Center (RECC).

Collaborating with IID

In addition to basic research, we have a big interest in performing applied research whose results are transferred to schools, governmental institutions, and open source communities. If you are interested in a collaboration with IID, e.g., in form of a partner in a research project, sponsor of our research, or in some other form, contact us.
